In the planning phase, we create the blueprints for the whole project. This is where we map out the migration and make the detailed plan for ETL, and start looking at data quality through our ACE Data approach.
ACE Data is more than just a process, it’s a whole approach to your legacy data. ACE Data is an understanding that the migration process is the perfect time to improve the quality of your data set, not just for migration but to help the business thrive. No data is ever perfect, but ACE Data helps to improve the accuracy and usability of your data ahead of migration.
ACE stands for Analysis, Cleanse, and Enrichment.
Analysis: We use our proprietary tools and frameworks to analyse legacy datasets and uncover hidden issues. This includes highlighting duplicates, structural inconsistencies, missing values, and other problems that could affect the success of the migration.
Cleanse: With technical guidance from binary10, your team takes the lead in cleaning the data, removing errors, consolidating duplicates, and improving data structure. This step transforms outdated or messy data into a cleaner, more reliable dataset.
Enrichment: This client-led stage is about adding what ’s missing. It may involve asking colleagues across departments to fill in gaps or verify critical fields so the data becomes more complete and insightful for future reporting and use.
With ACE Data, your organisation doesn’t just migrate data, it improves it. This step lays the groundwork for a smooth migration process and a healthier data environment in your new system long after the project ends.

Strategy
Strategy: Every successful migration starts with a clear strategy. We define objectives, data scope, assess data sourcing & quality, and identify key risks early on. This foundation, based on the binary10 methodology, ensures the project aligns with your organisation’s goals and sets the stage for a smooth migration journey.
Planning
We turn strategy into action with detailed planning. This includes scoping, timelines, resources, and stakeholder alignment, ensuring the DM Plan dovetails with overall programme milestones. A solid plan keeps the project on track, ensures accountability, and prepares teams for every stage of the migration.
Hypercare
In the days and weeks after go-live, we offer hands-on support. We investigate any issues raised swiftly to determine if they are data-related, work to resolve any issues quickly, monitor any data updates, and provide reassurance to users, helping them feel confident with the new system from day one.
Cutover
The final step is switching fully to the new system. We will manage the planning of DM Cutover tasks and coordinate with you to ensure these tasks sit correctly in your overall cutover plan, in order to minimise issues or disruption during the cutover period. With all tasks and checks complete and users supported, the cutover marks a clean handover and the start of real business benefits.
Reconciliation
We validate that everything has landed correctly from a technical viewpoint. Record counts, field-level checks, and audit trails are used to compare source and target data, giving you confidence that nothing was lost, changed, or duplicated in the process. We also manage the business reconciliation approach to ensure you have a structured plan for reconciling the data yourself, with your SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) fully briefed on the “what, when and how” they should carry out reconciliations.
