Executive summary.
Merlin Entertainments undertook a Finance Transformation programme to modernise their ERP systems and merge disparate data from multiple legal entities into a new cloud-based ERP system. We were engaged early in the programme to carry out a DM Strategy and ultimately to manage the Data Workstream in its entirety and deliver the Data Migration ETL for the initial implementation and subsequently 5 further phases for different groups of legal entities in multiple geographical regions. Both initial implementation and all further phases were successfully migrated on time, on budget, with no major issues.

Oracle NetSuite, replacing multiple MS Dynamics Navision and SAGE legacy systems, plus numerous spreadsheets.

The binary10 team did a fantastic job. They, in essence, became part of the Merlin team, and you couldn't tell the difference between a Merlin employee and one of the specialists from binary 10!

Key delivery factors.
We defined the initial DM Scope and Strategy, which was used for the initial implementation and revised & re-used for 5 subsequent rollouts. Each phase consisted of at least 5 DM Cycles to point of Cutover for multiple legal entities, across the USA, UK and ANZ
Early in each phase, we identified any data quality issues utilising our tool to analyse the data and worked closely with the business teams to aid correction of data on legacy systems before migrating. Data Quality Analytics were shared weekly with Programme Management to show progress.
The DM scope covered Financials modules GL, Budgets, AR, AP, FA and PA.
Utilising a Core DM Team made up of a combination of binary10 consultants, plus one Merlin employee, working closely with Merlin Workstream Leads and SME's, we successfully completed the data migration in each phase to agreed standards and timescales using the binary10 methodology and toolset.
My experience with binary 10 is 100% positive! Whenever I've been able to welcome binary 10 onto a program. It's as if you feel that you have a trusted partner that you never have to worry about, that you're going to do a great job and knock everything that they do right out of the park.
