ETL stands for Extract, Transform, and Load. It is an industry standard process used to move data from a legacy system to a target system.

The ETL process is essential in data migration because it helps ensure that data from the source system is not only transferred accurately but also aligned with the data model and format of the target system.
We have our own process , ACE Data, for ensuring this is done accurately and effectively. ACE Data is an approach, not just a process. It allows the project team to have confidence that the transform and load stage of ETL will go as smoothly as possible.
Extract
Data is extracted from the legacy system so it can be manipulated ahead of the migration.
Transform
Transformation can involve cleaning, filtering, aggregating, and restructuring data. This step ensures that the data is in the right format and structure for the destination system.
LOAD
The final stage sees the data loaded into the target system for future use across the organisation.
